Receives an Apostle each time he finishes a M'banza or Theater Square (of that city's majority Religion). Gains all Beliefs of any Religion that has established itself in a majority of his cities.
Leader Ability - Religious Convert: May not build Holy Site Districts, gain Great Prophets, or found Religions. By constantly filling Kongolese cities with artifacts, sculptures, and relics, players can be assured that their cities will be populous, wealthy, and tourist-rich. For relics, Kongo may find it beneficial to lose some of its free Apostles (those with the Martyr promotion) in theological combat. When it comes to Great Artists, Kongo may find it beneficial to build Great Wonders to house them, especially if those artists are sculptors. This is because Kongo receives extra Food, Production, and Gold from each artifact. From there, Kongo should seek to create many Theatre Squares, preferably filled with Archaeological Museums over Art Museums. At the start of the game, Kongo should look to establish cities in jungles and forests which afford her the greatest defense and growth opportunities. So while Kongo cannot win a religious victory, it is exceptionally capable of winning culturally. Thus, this abillty partially allows Kongo to choose which religion is most beneficial for itself, especially if Kongo uses its free Apostles to keep the desired religion dominant.
Kongo cannot found its own religion, instead receiving all the belief bonuses of the religion that is dominant in a majority of Kongo's cities. NOTE: The Byzantine Civilization get a 3rd bonus Religion Bonus slot available to them as one of their leader bonuses.Mvemba's Kongo is most notable in that it is completely excluded from religious victory.
Once a religion has been founded, when your next Great Prophet is born you'll have the option to further enhance your religion by following the same method used to found it. Once you have selected a symbol, name, and both bonuses, click on the button in the bottom right corner of the window to found the Religion. In the new window, you will be given options to customize your Religion. "Found Religion" will bring up a new window for creating the Religion. Once your Great Prophet is available to use, select the unit and choose the top option from their actions menu. After you start earning Faith, a Great Prophet will begin to be born in your Capital City. This will give you a base bonus for your civilization. Once you have constructed a building which produces Faith (such as a Shrine), after earning enough Faith you will be prompted to found a Pantheon.
Below are the instructions on how to do this:
